Science Week
The pupils at SFSS had great fun last week participating in a variety of different activities for Science week.
The Oak and Chestnut class got to see the magic happen with the skittles experiment. They carefully placed the skittles in a circle on a plate with the help from their teachers Mary and Louise and poured the warm water onto the plate to see the colourful rainbow form! The Oak Class also got to learn about the importance of washing their hands to remove germs using an experiment using water, pepper and soap.
The Rowan and Hawthorn class were busy in the garden exploring the soil and planting garlic and got the opportunity to investigate bark and soft pulp with Bernadette.
The Chestnut class got to make a rain cloud in jars. They were very focused using syringes to put the dye on shaving foam and waited to see it rain!
The Elm, Rowan, Willow and Cherry class have started a sensory play integration programme on Fridays. This week the pupils got to explore different materials through sensory play. They were surrounded by lots of blue objects to link in with our colour of the month for November!
